Act Fast. Save a Life. Start with CPR and AED Awareness.

Sudden cardiac arrest can happen anywhere at the office, in a shopping mall, or right at home. This free CPR AED awareness course teaches you exactly what to do in those first critical minutes. Since brain damage can begin within four minutes of cardiac arrest, acting quickly is not optional. It is everything.

This online course gives you the core knowledge to recognize a cardiac emergency, start chest compressions immediately, and operate a defibrillator with confidence even if you have never touched one before.

Why CPR and AED Knowledge Saves Lives

Most cardiac arrests happen outside a hospital. Moreover, emergency services can take anywhere from 8 to 12 minutes to arrive. During that window, a bystander who knows CPR and AED use can double or even triple a victim’s chance of survival, according to the American Heart Association.

Yet, despite this, fewer than 40% of cardiac arrest victims receive bystander CPR before paramedics arrive. This course exists to close that gap — one trained person at a time.

What You Will Learn

This awareness course focuses on high-impact, easy-to-remember techniques. You do not need a medical background. You just need the will to help.

1. Recognizing Cardiac Arrest

Not every collapse is the same. Therefore, knowing the difference between a faint and a cardiac emergency is your first life-saving skill. In this section, you will learn the key warning signs — including unresponsiveness, absent or abnormal breathing, and no pulse — so you can act without hesitation.

2. Hands-Only CPR

Hands-Only CPR is simple, effective, and proven. You push hard and fast on the center of the chest no rescue breaths needed for adult victims in the first few minutes. This module covers correct hand placement, compression depth (at least 5 cm), and the ideal rate of 100–120 compressions per minute. Furthermore, you will learn how to maintain quality compressions even when you are tired.

3. AED Navigation – Step by Step

An AED guides you with voice prompts. However, knowing what to expect before you touch one removes panic from the equation entirely. This section gives you a visual walkthrough of how to power on the device, place the pads correctly, and follow each instruction safely. You will also discover where AEDs are typically located in public spaces such as airports, gyms, and shopping centers — information that could save crucial seconds.

4. Overcoming Fear – The Good Samaritan Principle

Many people hesitate to help because they fear doing something wrong. Fortunately, Good Samaritan laws exist in most countries to protect bystanders who act in good faith during an emergency. This module explains those protections clearly, so fear does not stop you from stepping in. In addition, we address common myths like the fear of breaking a rib and replace them with facts that build your confidence.

5. Choking Relief for Adults and Children

Choking can escalate to unconsciousness within minutes. As a result, this section teaches you the Heimlich maneuver for conscious adults and children, as well as back blows for infants. You will also learn how to adapt your approach when a victim becomes unresponsive. These techniques are simple to remember and fast to apply.

The Chain of Survival – Your Role in It

The Chain of Survival is an international framework developed by resuscitation experts. It describes the four steps that give a cardiac arrest victim the best chance of recovery:

  1. Early recognition – Spot the emergency fast
  2. Early CPR – Start compressions immediately
  3. Early defibrillation – Use an AED as soon as possible
  4. Early advanced care – Hand over to professional responders

This course prepares you to cover steps one through three confidently. Therefore, by completing it, you become a direct link in a chain that saves lives.
